On Friday, December 16th, 2019 on a flight between Shanghai (PVG) and Vancouver (YVR) on Air Canada, a passenger who ordered a special meal, found the meal was tampered with (contained a foreign item and had at least one item missing). With the main meal contents untampered with, the passenger consumed the food which resulted in food poisioning. Despite the excessive amount of time spent in the washroom during the unpleasant travels, no crew member provided any assistance to the passenger.
On the ground, the passenger's travel representive contacted Air Canada immediatly to warn them of the potential health hazards on the flight, however Air Canada was not responsive. Multiple attempts have been made to contact Air Canada, even with Air Canada noting of the issue, no response was given.
Attempts to contact the Canada Transportation Agency directly has failed.
According to “Procedures for suspected food poisoning on board” (IATA), the airline has a direct responsibility in reporting an incident International Civil Aviation Organization regulations (ICAO Annex 9, Chapter 8, and paragraph 8.15) and the
World Health Organization International Health Regulations (WHO IHR 2005, Article 28).
However it appears that this was not done in this case.
How many other cases are ignored by Canadian Airlines?

These are some of the Issues with flying in modern Canadian Airlines:
More Examples

With resolve, DirtyPlanes was created to highlight the lack of health standards in Canadian Airlines and to promote legislation which forces airlines to change their dirty and unsafe ways.
We would like to setup an a e-petition, however we need many people to first join our supporters for it to be acknowledged as being legitimate.
There should be legislation which requires Canadian Airlines to improve Hygiene and Safety before each and every flight.
Airline Cabins should not be considered as public spaces and they should spend the time to ensure that the cabin is properly cleaned before each and every flight.
Hygiene: ie. Food or Beverages have perished; Staff improperly handling food; On-board Potable water contaminated, Dirty Seats; Dirty Trays; Dirty Pockets; Dirty Washrooms; Dirty Air filters; Fuel Odours in Cabin; etc.
Safety: Unsafe leg space; Unsafe seat widths; Unsafe Cargo Loads; Broken Seats/Equipment; Unsafe Equipment; etc.
Airlines should be required to provide financial compensation and inform the public whenever they fail to provide standards which any other business would need to follow in terms of health and safety.
